Lester and his magic wishes

farsishel silverstine

Lester was given a magic wish
By the goblin who lives in the banyan tree,
And with his wish he wished for two more wishes–
So now instead of just one wish, he cleverly had three.
And with each one of these
He simply wished for three more wishes,
Which gave him three old wishes, plus nine new.
And with each of these twelve
He slyly wished for three more wishes,
Which added up to forty-six–or is it fifty-two?
Well anyway, he used each wish
To wish for wishes ’til he had
Five billion, seven million, eighteen thousand thirty-four.
And then he spread them on the ground
And clapped his hands and danced around
And skipped and sang, and then sat down
And wished for more.
And more…and more…they multiplied
While other people smiled and cried
And loved and reached and touched and felt.
Lester sat amid his wealth
Stacked mountain-high like stacks of gold,
Sat and counted–and grew old.
And then one Thursday night they found him
Dead–with his wishes piled around him.
And they counted the lot and found that not
A single one was missing.
All shiny and new–here, take a few
And think of Lester as you do.
In a world of apples and kisses and shoes
He wasted his wishes on wishing.

Path Of Heaven Paulo Coelho

A Man, His Horse and His Dogfarsi

Once upon a time, a man, his horse and his dog were travelling along a road. As they passed by a huge tree, it was struck by lightning and they all died. But the man failed to notice that he was no longer of this world and so he continued walking along with his two animal companions.

It was a long, uphill walk, the sun was beating down on them and they were all sweating and thirsty. At a bend in the road they saw a magnificent marble gateway that led into a gold-paved square, in the centre of which was a fountain overflowing with crystal-clear water. The man went over to the guard at the entrance.

– “Good morning.”

Happy Doctor’s Day

Happy Doctor’s Day.farsi

Tomorrow will be the first of “Shahrivar” in Iranian calendar, they call this day the doctor’s day, because of a great man, who used his intelligence and made a name for himself and his country.

Happy Doctors Day at First Of Shahrivar Of Avicenna birthday

Avicenna, had had much effect on different sciences that we actually put on a suit made after his ‘turban and aba’ on our graduation day (actually all over the world they do this), a scientist that his word was rule in not only medicine, but also in politics, jurisprudence and other kinds of science at his time.

In Iran, the doctor’s day is the day he was born, much to doctors’ joy and pleasure. Still, how much pleasure this day makes for us is another thing.

With all the deficiency that healthcare hygiene has around this country, and with all the good and bad attitude toward the doctors- my fellow co-workers- I must say this to my co-workers, and to every single doctor in this country, Happy Doctor’s Day.

Body Mass Index ,Fat or Thin

Health is important, very important.farsi

Actually, Health has a Specific definition, you can find it in net very easy, but today I don’t want to talk about definition of health, I don’t want to discuss if the modern society is healthy or not, what I want to write about today, is something related to health, Imbalance in weight.

We have a scale for balance of weight, it is called BMI, and in medicine, they use it as a proof for knowing the range of fatness. But
